Important Training Requirement: OSHA’s training requirements for an asbestos competent person depend on the class of asbestos work being supervised. For Class I and Class II asbestos work, the competent person must receive comprehensive supervisor-level training meeting applicable OSHA requirements, including training meeting the criteria of EPA’s Model Accreditation Plan or equivalent requirements. For Class III and Class IV work, different training requirements apply based on the activities performed.
