Training & Certification Policy
Effective Date: October 6, 2026
This Training & Certification Policy establishes the general requirements applicable to training programs, course participation, evaluations, certificates, cards, credentials, and training records provided by A.R.G. Construction, Safety & Health (“A.R.G.,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
Specific courses or programs may be subject to additional requirements established by applicable regulations, standards, program requirements, authorizing organizations, regulatory agencies, clients, or written course instructions. When a specific program imposes additional or more restrictive requirements, those requirements will apply.
1. TRAINING PROGRAMS
A.R.G. provides occupational safety and health training and professional development programs for construction, general industry, maritime, disaster response, hazardous materials, mine safety, environmental health and safety, equipment operations, emergency response, and other specialized areas.
Course availability, duration, content, prerequisites, delivery format, examinations, practical exercises, evaluations, and documentation requirements may vary according to the specific program.
2. REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Participants are responsible for providing complete and accurate registration information.
A.R.G. may require information reasonably necessary to establish participant identity, maintain training records, issue appropriate documentation, satisfy applicable program requirements, or prevent misuse or fraud.
False, incomplete, misleading, altered, or fraudulent information may result in denial of registration, removal from training, withholding or cancellation of documentation, or other appropriate action.
3. IDENTITY VERIFICATION
A.R.G. may require participants to present appropriate identification before or during training when necessary for training records, examinations, evaluations, certification, credential issuance, regulatory requirements, or program integrity.
Training documentation will generally be issued using the participant information contained in A.R.G.’s applicable training records.
4. ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS
Participants are responsible for attending the required instructional hours and activities applicable to their training program.
When a course or program requires a specified number of instructional hours, A.R.G. may not issue completion documentation to a participant who does not satisfy the applicable attendance requirement.
Participants should arrive on time and remain for the required duration of the course.
5. LATE ARRIVAL & EARLY DEPARTURE
Late arrival, excessive absence, extended unauthorized breaks, or early departure may prevent a participant from satisfying applicable course requirements.
Depending on the program and circumstances, a participant may be required to reschedule, complete additional instruction, or repeat the course before completion documentation can be issued.
6. PARTICIPATION & CONDUCT
Participants are expected to participate appropriately in instructional activities and maintain professional and safe conduct.
A.R.G. reserves the right to remove a participant whose conduct creates a safety concern, materially disrupts instruction, interferes with other participants, involves harassment or threats, involves suspected impairment, or otherwise prevents appropriate delivery of the training program.
Removal from a course may affect eligibility for completion documentation or a refund, subject to applicable circumstances and A.R.G.’s Refund & Cancellation Policy.
7. EXAMINATIONS & KNOWLEDGE ASSESSMENTS
Certain courses may require written examinations, quizzes, knowledge assessments, or other methods of demonstrating understanding of course content.
Participants must satisfy any applicable passing requirements before course-completion documentation is issued when such requirements are part of the program.
Retesting opportunities, when available, will depend on the requirements of the applicable course or program.
8. PRACTICAL TRAINING & EVALUATIONS
Certain training programs may include demonstrations, hands-on exercises, practical instruction, or performance evaluations.
Participants must follow instructor directions and applicable safety requirements during practical activities.
A.R.G. may discontinue or postpone a practical activity when conditions, equipment, participant conduct, weather, facilities, or other circumstances create an unreasonable safety concern.
9. EQUIPMENT OPERATOR TRAINING
Equipment-related training may include classroom instruction, practical training, evaluation, or other components depending on the equipment, course, applicable requirements, and scope of services purchased.
Completion of an A.R.G. equipment training program does not automatically authorize an individual to operate equipment for an employer.
Employers remain responsible for determining whether an employee has received the training and evaluation required for the equipment and workplace involved and for providing any employer authorization, supervision, workplace-specific instruction, or additional evaluation required by applicable standards or company policy.
10. COURSE COMPLETION
Course completion requires satisfaction of the requirements applicable to the particular program, which may include attendance, participation, examinations, practical exercises, evaluations, documentation, and other program-specific requirements.
Registration or payment alone does not constitute successful completion of a training program.
11. CERTIFICATES, CARDS & TRAINING DOCUMENTS
When applicable, A.R.G. may issue certificates, wallet cards, training records, or other documentation after successful completion of a training program.
Such documentation represents completion only within the scope of the applicable course or program.
Unless specifically established by the applicable program or regulatory requirement, a course-completion certificate or card should not be interpreted as a governmental license, professional license, employer authorization, or guarantee of competency for every workplace, task, or jurisdiction.
12. EMPLOYER RESPONSIBILITY
Employers remain responsible for determining the training, competency, qualification, authorization, supervision, and workplace-specific requirements applicable to their employees and operations.
Training provided by A.R.G. does not transfer an employer’s responsibility for workplace safety, hazard assessment, employee supervision, equipment authorization, regulatory compliance, or implementation of appropriate workplace controls.
13. REGULATORY & PROGRAM-SPECIFIC TRAINING
Certain courses may relate to requirements, standards, or programs associated with OSHA, MSHA, EPA, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, state agencies, or other governmental or industry organizations.
Requirements for training duration, course content, refresher training, examinations, instructor qualifications, documentation, expiration, or renewal may differ by program.
A.R.G. will administer such training within the scope of the applicable program, authorization, approval, provider status, instructor qualification, or service being offered.
14. OSHA-RELATED TRAINING
Where training is delivered under an applicable OSHA program or by an appropriately authorized instructor, the requirements of that specific program govern the training and documentation provided.
A.R.G. is an independent private organization and is not OSHA or the U.S. Department of Labor. Instructor authorization does not make A.R.G. a governmental agency.
15. MSHA-RELATED TRAINING
MSHA-related training is subject to the requirements applicable to the mine, operation, contractor, participant, and training program involved.
Mine operators, contractors, and employers remain responsible for determining the training plan, documentation, task training, site-specific requirements, and other obligations applicable to their operations and personnel.
16. EPA & ENVIRONMENTAL TRAINING
EPA-related, lead-related, asbestos-related, environmental, and similar training may be subject to federal, state, local, licensing, accreditation, provider, or program-specific requirements.
Completion of training does not replace any separate firm certification, individual certification, licensing, permitting, notification, employer, contractor, or other regulatory requirement that may apply.
17. EM 385 & PROJECT-SPECIFIC TRAINING
Training involving EM 385 or other project-specific requirements is intended to address the applicable course content and training scope.
Contractors, employers, and responsible project personnel remain responsible for determining whether individuals satisfy the experience, competency, qualification, designation, documentation, and other requirements applicable to a particular contract or project position.
18. REFRESHER & RENEWAL TRAINING
Certain programs may require periodic refresher, renewal, continuing education, or retraining.
Participants and employers are responsible for monitoring applicable training dates, expiration dates, renewal requirements, regulatory changes, and employer-specific retraining requirements.
A.R.G. may provide reminders as a customer service when available, but failure to receive a reminder does not extend an expiration date or eliminate a participant’s or employer’s responsibility to maintain required training or credentials.
19. REPLACEMENT CERTIFICATES & CARDS
Requests for replacement certificates, wallet cards, or other training documentation are subject to verification of available A.R.G. training records.
A.R.G. may require identity verification and may charge reasonable administrative, processing, production, or shipping fees for replacement documentation.
A.R.G. cannot guarantee replacement of documentation when records are unavailable, insufficient, outside applicable retention periods, or maintained exclusively by another organization.
20. CORRECTIONS TO TRAINING DOCUMENTS
Participants should review certificates, cards, and other training documents when received and promptly report suspected errors.
A.R.G. may correct verified administrative errors in accordance with applicable program requirements and available training records.
Requests to change information that was incorrectly provided by a participant may require supporting documentation and may be subject to administrative or replacement fees.
21. TRAINING RECORD VERIFICATION
A.R.G. may maintain training records according to applicable program requirements, business practices, contractual requirements, and record-retention obligations.
Training verification requests may require sufficient information to identify the participant and training record.
A.R.G. reserves the right to protect personal information and may limit information disclosed to third parties when appropriate.
22. FRAUDULENT OR ALTERED CREDENTIALS
A.R.G. prohibits unauthorized reproduction, alteration, falsification, sale, transfer, or fraudulent use of its certificates, cards, training records, verification documents, instructor materials, or other credentials.
A.R.G. reserves the right to investigate suspected misuse and, when appropriate, notify an employer, client, program administrator, regulatory authority, law-enforcement authority, or other appropriate party, subject to applicable law.
23. CERTIFICATE & CREDENTIAL VALIDITY
The validity, duration, expiration, or renewal requirements of training documentation depend on the specific course, applicable program, regulatory requirement, employer requirement, or issuing authority.
A.R.G. does not represent that every certificate or card remains valid indefinitely.
24. TRAINING MATERIALS & INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Course materials, presentations, manuals, examinations, graphics, forms, instructor resources, certificates, and other materials owned or developed by A.R.G. may be protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Participants may not reproduce, record, distribute, sell, publish, upload, modify, or use protected training materials to provide unauthorized instruction or commercial services without appropriate authorization.
25. PHOTOGRAPHY, RECORDING & COURSE CONTENT
Participants may not record, reproduce, livestream, distribute, or publish instructional presentations, examinations, proprietary course materials, or other protected content without prior authorization.
Any authorized photography or recording remains subject to privacy, confidentiality, intellectual property, client, facility, and program requirements.
26. LANGUAGE & COMMUNICATION
Participants must be able to understand the instruction, safety directions, examinations, and evaluations provided in the language of the applicable course or through an approved method of communication when available.
Availability of bilingual instruction, translated materials, or other language assistance may vary by program.
27. MEDICAL OR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Certain workplace activities or training programs may involve physical activities, personal protective equipment, respirator use, emergency response, equipment operation, or other conditions that may be subject to medical, physical, employer, or regulatory requirements.
A.R.G. training does not replace any medical evaluation, medical clearance, fit testing, employer assessment, or other requirement applicable to the participant’s work unless that specific service is expressly included within the training or service provided.
28. SAFETY DURING TRAINING
Participants must follow applicable safety rules and instructor directions during training.
A.R.G. reserves the right to stop, modify, or postpone an activity when reasonably necessary to address unsafe conditions or conduct.
29. THIRD-PARTY & CLIENT REQUIREMENTS
Employers, general contractors, project owners, governmental entities, facilities, clients, or other organizations may impose training or documentation requirements beyond those included in an A.R.G. course.
Participants and employers are responsible for determining whether an A.R.G. course satisfies the requirements of the organization, project, employer, jurisdiction, or position for which the training will be used.
30. CHANGES TO TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Regulations, standards, interpretations, program requirements, industry practices, and course requirements may change.
A.R.G. may revise course content, documentation, procedures, or this Training & Certification Policy when reasonably necessary to reflect applicable changes.
31. RELATED POLICIES
Training registrations and use of A.R.G.’s website may also be subject to our Terms & Conditions, Refund & Cancellation Policy, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Disclaimer, and other applicable written terms.
