Aerial Boom Lift & Scissor Lift Train-the-Trainer
This Train-the-Trainer program is designed for qualified personnel who will provide workplace training for aerial boom lift and scissor lift operators.
The program addresses instructional responsibilities, equipment hazards, operator safety principles, pre-operation inspections, workplace assessment, safe operating practices, practical demonstrations, operator evaluations, and training documentation.

- Trainer roles and responsibilities
- Applicable aerial lift and mobile elevating work platform safety requirements
- Equipment types, components, controls, and safety devices
- Manufacturer instructions and equipment limitations
- Pre-operation inspections and function tests
- Workplace and ground-condition assessment
- Platform capacity and load limitations
- Fall protection requirements and considerations
- Equipment stability and tip-over prevention
- Overhead electrical and obstruction hazards
- Safe traveling, positioning, and platform operation
- Emergency lowering and emergency procedures
- Conducting practical equipment demonstrations
- Operator performance evaluations

- Effective safety training techniques
Train-the-Trainer: Participants receive instruction intended to help them conduct equipment-specific operator safety training and evaluations within their organization, subject to employer requirements, manufacturer instructions, applicable regulations, and the trainer’s qualifications and experience.
Important: Completion of this program does not constitute an OSHA license, government-issued instructor credential, or authorization from an equipment manufacturer. Employers remain responsible for determining trainer qualifications and ensuring operators are properly trained, evaluated, familiarized, and authorized for the specific equipment and workplace conditions involved.
