Forklift Train-the-Trainer provided by A.R.G. Construction, Safety & Health for qualified personnel responsible for delivering workplace forklift operator safety training and performance evaluations.

The program addresses applicable powered industrial truck safety requirements, inspections, equipment stability, load handling, workplace hazards, practical demonstrations, operator evaluations, retraining considerations, and training documentation.

Important: Completion of this program does not constitute an OSHA license, government-issued instructor credential, or manufacturer authorization. Employers remain responsible for determining trainer qualifications and ensuring operators receive the required equipment-specific training and evaluation.

Forklift Train-the-Trainer

This Train-the-Trainer program is designed for qualified personnel who will provide workplace safety training and operator evaluations for powered industrial truck operators.

The program addresses trainer responsibilities, forklift hazards, equipment inspections, safe operating practices, practical demonstrations, operator performance evaluations, retraining considerations, and training documentation.

Trainer roles and responsibilities
Applicable OSHA powered industrial truck training requirements
Forklift types, components, controls, and safety features
Equipment limitations and manufacturer instructions
Pre-operation inspections
Workplace and operating-environment assessment
Equipment stability and center of gravity
Load capacity and safe load handling
Traveling with and without loads
Ramps, grades, docks, aisles, and pedestrian areas
Fuel and battery safety considerations, as applicable
Attachments and equipment-specific hazards
Conducting practical demonstrations
Conducting operator performance evaluations
Retraining considerations
Training documentation and recordkeeping
Effective safety training techniques

Train-the-Trainer: Participants receive instruction intended to help them conduct forklift operator safety training and evaluations within their organization, subject to employer requirements, equipment-specific requirements, manufacturer instructions, applicable regulations, and the trainer’s qualifications and experience.
