CPR, AED & First Aid Train-the-Trainer
This Train-the-Trainer program is designed for qualified and experienced personnel who will provide workplace CPR, AED, and First Aid safety instruction within their organization.
The program combines emergency response knowledge and practical skills with instructional techniques, demonstrations, participant evaluation methods, training documentation, and considerations for conducting effective workplace safety training.

- Trainer roles and responsibilities
- Effective adult learning and instructional techniques
- Planning and delivering CPR, AED, and First Aid training
- Scene safety and responder precautions
- Recognizing cardiac and breathing emergencies
- Activation of Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
- CPR principles and practical skills
- Chest compression fundamentals
- Rescue breathing and barrier device considerations
- Automated External Defibrillator (AED) fundamentals
- AED safety and practical demonstrations
- First aid assessment and emergency response
- Bleeding control and wound care
- Shock, burns, and musculoskeletal injuries
- Medical and environmental emergency awareness
- Conducting skills demonstrations and practice sessions
- Evaluating participant knowledge and practical performance
- Training documentation and recordkeeping
- Refresher and retraining considerations
Train-the-Trainer: This program is intended to develop workplace trainers who can deliver CPR, AED, and First Aid safety instruction within their organization, subject to employer requirements, trainer qualifications, applicable regulations, and the training program being used.
Important: Completion of this program does not constitute instructor authorization, instructor certification, or affiliation with the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross, National Safety Council, OSHA, or any other third-party credentialing organization unless separately and expressly provided through an authorized program.
Employers remain responsible for determining trainer qualifications and ensuring that workplace CPR, AED, First Aid, and emergency response training meets the requirements applicable to their operations.
