1520 – Crane Operator Safety Awareness Training
A.R.G. Construction, Safety & Health provides Crane Operator Safety Awareness Training designed to provide participants with foundational knowledge of crane hazards, safe operating principles, work-zone controls, load-handling considerations, communication practices, and responsibilities associated with crane operations.
This awareness-level program addresses common hazards associated with mobile and construction crane operations. It is intended to improve hazard recognition and understanding of safe crane operations and does not constitute crane operator certification, licensing, or employer operator evaluation.

Training Discipline: Crane & Heavy Equipment Safety Awareness
Equipment: Mobile and Construction Cranes, as Applicable
Training Format: Instructor-led classroom and/or online safety awareness training.
OSHA Construction Crane Notice: Crane and derrick operations in construction may be subject to OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart CC. For equipment covered by applicable operator requirements, employers must ensure operators satisfy applicable training, certification or licensing, and employer evaluation requirements before operating the equipment, except where specific regulatory exceptions apply.
Certification Notice: This A.R.G. course is a safety awareness training program. Completion of this course does not constitute crane operator certification or licensing and does not replace certification from an appropriately accredited crane operator testing organization, a qualifying governmental license, or another qualification method recognized under applicable requirements.
Employer Evaluation Notice: A crane operator certification or training certificate alone does not replace an employer’s responsibility to evaluate an operator when an employer evaluation is required. The employer remains responsible for determining that the operator has the skills, knowledge, and ability to recognize and avert risk necessary to safely operate the assigned equipment and perform the assigned work.
Equipment-Specific Notice: Crane configuration, capacity, boom length, attachments, operational aids, load charts, ground conditions, and assigned lifting activities can significantly affect safe operation. Equipment-specific instruction and evaluation must be addressed when required.
Signal Person & Rigging Notice: Completion of this course does not by itself qualify an individual as a crane signal person or rigger. Those functions may be subject to separate qualification, training, competency, or employer requirements.
Training Certificate: Participants who successfully complete this program may receive an A.R.G. Construction, Safety & Health Certificate of Training documenting completion of Crane Operator Safety Awareness Training.
The A.R.G. Certificate of Training documents completion of this awareness program and should not be represented as an OSHA-issued credential, governmental crane operator license, or crane operator certification.
