904 – MSHA Part 46 Site-Specific Hazard Awareness Training
A.R.G. Construction, Safety & Health provides Site-Specific Hazard Awareness Training developed to address the requirements of 30 CFR Part 46, §46.11.
This training is designed to alert individuals entering a Part 46 mine site to the specific hazards, conditions, traffic patterns, restricted areas, emergency procedures, and safe work practices applicable to that particular mining operation.
Site-Specific Hazard Awareness Training must be provided before applicable persons are exposed to mine hazards.
Training May Apply To:
- Office and Staff Personnel
- Scientific Workers
- Delivery Workers
- Customers and Commercial Over-the-Road Truck Drivers
- Vendors and Visitors
- Applicable Maintenance and Service Workers
- Applicable Construction Workers
- Employees of Independent Contractors
- Miners Who Move From One Mine to Another, When Applicable
Training Methods May Include: Oral instruction, written hazard information, signs and posted warnings, walk-around training, or other appropriate methods sufficient to alert affected persons to site-specific mine hazards.
Course Duration: Site-dependent. Part 46 does not establish a universal minimum number of training hours for Site-Specific Hazard Awareness Training. Training must be sufficient for the hazards and conditions to which the individual may be exposed.

Important: This training must be customized to the actual mine site. Mine-specific hazard information must be obtained and incorporated into the training before the program is delivered for a particular mining operation.
