1504 – Rough Terrain Forklift Operator Safety Training
A.R.G. Construction, Safety & Health provides Rough Terrain Forklift Operator Safety Training designed to provide participants with the knowledge and practical understanding necessary to safely operate rough terrain forklifts and recognize hazards associated with material handling operations on construction sites, industrial locations, and uneven or unimproved terrain.
This training program addresses equipment inspection, operating controls, stability, load handling, capacity limitations, terrain conditions, attachments, workplace hazards, safe travel, manufacturer requirements, and operator responsibilities. Practical operator evaluation may be provided when applicable and when suitable equipment is available.

Training Discipline: Equipment Operator Safety
Equipment: Rough Terrain Forklift / Rough Terrain Powered Industrial Truck
Training Format: Instructor-led classroom and/or online instruction with practical equipment training and operator evaluation as applicable.
Operator Evaluation: Applicable powered industrial truck operator training requirements include formal instruction, practical training, and evaluation of the operator’s performance. When this A.R.G. course is delivered as part of employer operator qualification, applicable hands-on training and evaluation must also be completed using equipment representative of the type the participant will operate and under appropriate workplace conditions.
Refresher & Reevaluation Notice: Refresher training may be required when an operator has been observed operating equipment unsafely, has been involved in an accident or near-miss, receives an evaluation indicating unsafe operation, is assigned to operate a different type of equipment, or when workplace conditions change in a manner that could affect safe operation. Applicable periodic operator evaluation requirements must also be satisfied.
Employer Responsibility Notice: Completion of classroom or online training alone does not automatically authorize an individual to operate a rough terrain forklift. Employers remain responsible for ensuring operators receive appropriate formal instruction, practical training, equipment-specific instruction, workplace evaluation, and authorization appropriate to the equipment and operating conditions involved.
Training Certificate: Participants who successfully complete applicable training and evaluation requirements may receive an A.R.G. Construction, Safety & Health Certificate of Training documenting completion of the Rough Terrain Forklift Operator Safety Training program.
The certificate documents training completed and should not be represented as a governmental operator license.
