Forklift, Telehandler & Rough Terrain Operator Safety Training

This training program is designed to provide operators with safety instruction for the proper operation of powered industrial trucks and material-handling equipment, including applicable counterbalance forklifts, electric and internal-combustion forklifts, telehandlers, and rough-terrain forklift trucks.

Training addresses operator responsibilities, equipment hazards, pre-operation inspections, stability, load handling, pedestrian safety, workplace conditions, and safe operating practices. Training and evaluation requirements may vary according to the specific equipment and workplace application.

  • Operator responsibilities and safe work practices
  • Applicable OSHA powered industrial truck requirements
  • Equipment types, components, controls, and safety features
  • Pre-operation inspections
  • Starting, operating, parking, and shutdown procedures
