1400 – EM 385-1-1 Safety & Occupational Health Requirements – Initial – 40 Hour
A.R.G. Construction, Safety & Health provides a comprehensive 40-hour professional training program addressing the safety and occupational health requirements, hazard-control principles, project safety responsibilities, and documentation practices associated with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) projects.
This instructor-led training program is based on the current EM 385-1-1, Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) Requirements, dated 15 March 2024.
The program is designed for safety professionals, supervisors, project managers, contractors, subcontractors, competent persons, SSHO personnel, and other individuals who require comprehensive professional development involving EM 385-1-1 requirements and federal project safety management.

Important Training Notice: This A.R.G. 40-hour program provides comprehensive professional training addressing EM 385-1-1 Safety and Occupational Health requirements. The 40-hour course duration should not be interpreted as a universal USACE requirement applicable to every employee, contractor, project, or position.
Qualification Notice: Completion of this training program does not by itself establish qualification, designation, or acceptance for a specific USACE contract position. Contract-specific training, experience, competent-person, qualified-person, SSHO, HAZWOPER, licensing, certification, or other requirements may apply depending on the individual’s duties and the applicable contract.
Training Certificate: Participants who successfully complete applicable course requirements may receive an A.R.G. Construction, Safety & Health Certificate of Training documenting completion of the 40-hour EM 385-1-1 professional training program. The certificate documents training completed and should not be represented as a USACE-issued certification or governmental license.
