1515 – Motor Grader Operator Safety Training
A.R.G. Construction, Safety & Health provides Motor Grader Operator Safety Training designed to provide participants with the knowledge and practical understanding necessary to safely operate motor graders and recognize hazards associated with grading, leveling, road construction, site preparation, material spreading, slope work, and earthmoving operations.
This training program addresses equipment familiarization, pre-operation inspection, workplace hazards, stability, articulation, blade operation, safe travel, grading techniques, slopes and ground conditions, visibility, manufacturer requirements, and operator responsibilities. Practical operator evaluation may be provided when applicable and when suitable equipment is available.

Training Discipline: Heavy Equipment Operator Safety
Equipment: Motor Grader / Road Grader
Training Format: Instructor-led classroom and/or online instruction with practical equipment training and operator evaluation as applicable.
Practical Training: When provided as part of operator qualification, hands-on training should address the specific equipment configuration, controls, articulation characteristics, blade controls, attachments, operating limitations, and hazards associated with the motor grader the participant is expected to operate.
Operator Evaluation: Practical evaluation, when required by the employer, project, manufacturer instructions, or applicable requirements, should be performed using equipment representative of the type the participant will operate and under representative workplace conditions.
Ground & Slope Safety Notice: Motor grader stability and control can be significantly affected by slopes, road edges, soft ground, excavations, articulation, wheel position, blade position, and site conditions. Operators should follow manufacturer limitations and applicable site-specific safe work procedures.
Utility Safety Notice: Grading operations may expose operators and ground personnel to underground and overhead utility hazards. Applicable utility-location, clearance, excavation, and site-control requirements should be addressed before and during operations.
Employer Responsibility Notice: Completion of this A.R.G. training program does not by itself authorize an individual to operate a motor grader. Employers remain responsible for ensuring operators are appropriately trained, familiarized, evaluated, authorized, and competent for the specific equipment, attachments, tasks, hazards, and workplace conditions involved.
Training Certificate: Participants who successfully complete applicable training and evaluation requirements may receive an A.R.G. Construction, Safety & Health Certificate of Training documenting completion of the Motor Grader Operator Safety Training program.
The certificate documents training completed and should not be represented as a governmental operator license.
