A.R.G. Construction, Safety & Health provides EPA Lead Dust Sampling Technician Initial Training for individuals seeking the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct post-work dust-lead testing under the EPA Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Rule.
This 8-hour initial training program is structured around EPA’s 2026 Lead Dust Sampling Technician Model Initial Training Course and provides instruction in visual inspection, dust wipe sampling, sample handling, laboratory submission, interpretation of laboratory results, documentation, and communication of results.

Regulatory Framework: EPA Lead RRP Rule, 40 CFR Part 745, Subpart E, applicable HUD requirements, and applicable federal, state, tribal, and local requirements.
Certification: Successful completion of an applicable accredited Lead Dust Sampling Technician Initial Training Course provides the participant with a course completion certificate that serves as the individual’s Lead Dust Sampling Technician certification under the applicable federal RRP program.
Scope Limitation: EPA-certified Lead Dust Sampling Technicians may conduct applicable post-renovation dust-lead testing under the RRP Rule. Lead Dust Sampling Technician certification does not authorize the individual to conduct post-abatement dust-lead testing or perform services requiring certification as a Lead-Based Paint Inspector or Risk Assessor.
