A.R.G. Construction, Safety & Health provides a 4-hour refresher training program for previously trained Certified Renovators maintaining their certification under the EPA Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Program.

The course reinforces EPA RRP requirements, Certified Renovator responsibilities, lead-safe work practices, containment, cleaning procedures, documentation, and current regulatory requirements.

Certification Period: The applicable certification period depends on whether the refresher course includes hands-on training. EPA provides for a five-year certification period following refresher training with hands-on training and a three-year period following an eligible refresher without hands-on training.

Expiration Notice: Refresher training must be completed before the current Certified Renovator certification expires. If certification expires, the 8-hour initial course must be completed again.

A.R.G. Construction, Safety & Health provides EPA Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Certified Renovator Refresher Training for previously trained Certified Renovators who need to maintain their certification.

This 4-hour refresher training program reviews the requirements of the EPA Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Rule, reinforces lead-safe work practices, and addresses important regulatory, procedural, and technical information applicable to renovation activities involving lead-based paint.

Training Level: Refresher / Recertification

Program: EPA Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP)

Regulatory Framework: EPA Lead RRP Rule, 40 CFR Part 745, Subpart E, and applicable federal, state, tribal, and local requirements.

Eligibility: Participants must meet applicable EPA or EPA-authorized program eligibility requirements for Certified Renovator refresher training and provide appropriate documentation of previous qualifying training.

Certification: Successful completion of the applicable refresher training course before the participant’s current certification expires allows the renovator to maintain certification in accordance with EPA RRP requirements.

Important: Refresher training that includes the required hands-on component provides a five-year certification period from the date of training. A qualifying refresher course without hands-on training provides a three-year certification period. Renovators using the no-hands-on option must complete a refresher course with hands-on training the next time they recertify.

If a Certified Renovator allows the certification to expire, the individual must complete the 8-hour Certified Renovator Initial Training Course again to regain certification.
