A.R.G. Construction, Safety & Health provides Emergency Evacuation & Exit Route Safety Training designed to help employees understand workplace evacuation procedures, exit-route safety, emergency alarms, emergency communication, employee accountability, assembly areas, and the importance of maintaining safe and unobstructed means of egress during workplace emergencies.

This training is appropriate for construction, general industry, warehouses, manufacturing facilities, offices, commercial buildings, industrial facilities, maintenance operations, and other workplaces where employees may be required to evacuate during fires or other emergencies.

Training Discipline: Emergency Evacuation, Exit Routes, Emergency Action Planning & Life Safety

Exit Route Awareness: Workplace exit routes generally consist of exit access, the exit itself, and exit discharge. Employees should understand the exit routes applicable to their work area and know how to reach a safe location during an emergency.

Emergency Action Plan Notice: Where an Emergency Action Plan is required, applicable OSHA requirements may include procedures for reporting emergencies, evacuation procedures and exit-route assignments, procedures for employees who remain to perform critical operations, employee accountability following evacuation, rescue or medical duties, and identification of employees who can provide additional information concerning the plan.

Exit Route Safety: Exit routes should remain available and unobstructed as required. Materials, equipment, locked or improperly secured doors, decorations, temporary construction activities, or other conditions should not interfere with required emergency egress.

Alarm & Communication Notice: Employees should understand the workplace alarm or notification methods used to communicate emergencies and the actions expected when those signals are activated.

Assembly & Accountability: Employees should proceed to designated assembly or muster locations when required and follow workplace accountability procedures. Employees should not leave an assembly area or re-enter an affected area contrary to established emergency procedures.

Re-Entry Notice: Employees should not re-enter an evacuated workplace until authorized under the employer’s emergency procedures or by appropriate emergency-response personnel.

Workplace-Specific Notice: Exit routes, alarm systems, assembly locations, evacuation assignments, emergency contacts, accessibility procedures, and emergency hazards vary by workplace. Employers remain responsible for providing employees with applicable site-specific information.

Emergency Response Limitation: Completion of this training does not qualify or designate a participant as a firefighter, rescue technician, emergency medical responder, hazardous materials responder, emergency coordinator, or other specialized emergency-response professional.

Employer Responsibility Notice: Employers remain responsible for developing and implementing required Emergency Action Plans, maintaining applicable exit routes and emergency systems, assigning responsibilities, providing required employee training, conducting appropriate drills, and complying with applicable federal, state, local, fire-code, contractual, and site-specific requirements.

Training Certificate: Participants who successfully complete applicable training requirements may receive an A.R.G. Construction, Safety & Health Certificate of Training documenting completion of the Emergency Evacuation & Exit Route Safety Training program.

The certificate documents training completed and should not be represented as an OSHA-issued credential, emergency responder certification, firefighter certification, or governmental license or certification.
