1509 – Articulated Dump Truck Operator Safety Training
A.R.G. Construction, Safety & Health provides Articulated Dump Truck Operator Safety Training designed to provide participants with the knowledge and practical understanding necessary to safely operate articulated dump trucks and recognize hazards associated with hauling, loading, transporting, and dumping materials on construction, earthmoving, mining-support, and industrial worksites.
This training program addresses equipment familiarization, pre-operation inspection, articulation hazards, stability, loading and dumping operations, safe travel, slopes and grades, visibility, workplace hazards, manufacturer requirements, and operator responsibilities. Practical operator evaluation may be provided when applicable and when suitable equipment is available.

Training Discipline: Heavy Equipment Operator Safety
Equipment: Articulated Dump Truck / Articulated Hauler
Training Format: Instructor-led classroom and/or online instruction with practical equipment training and operator evaluation as applicable.
Practical Training: When provided as part of operator qualification, hands-on training should address the specific equipment configuration, controls, articulation characteristics, operating limitations, loading and dumping procedures, and hazards associated with the articulated dump truck the participant is expected to operate.
Operator Evaluation: Practical evaluation, when required by the employer, project, manufacturer instructions, or applicable requirements, should be performed using equipment representative of the type the participant will operate and under representative workplace conditions.
Dumping Safety Notice: Raising a dump body can significantly affect equipment stability. Operators should evaluate ground conditions, slopes, overhead clearances, edge hazards, load conditions, and manufacturer limitations before dumping. Equipment should not be traveled with the dump body elevated except as specifically permitted by the manufacturer and necessary for the operation.
Employer Responsibility Notice: Completion of this A.R.G. training program does not by itself authorize an individual to operate an articulated dump truck. Employers remain responsible for ensuring operators are appropriately trained, familiarized, evaluated, authorized, and competent for the specific equipment, tasks, hazards, haul routes, and workplace conditions involved.
Training Certificate: Participants who successfully complete applicable training and evaluation requirements may receive an A.R.G. Construction, Safety & Health Certificate of Training documenting completion of the Articulated Dump Truck Operator Safety Training program.
The certificate documents training completed and should not be represented as a governmental operator license.
