Description
This training provides fall protection safety instruction for personnel assigned responsibilities involving work at heights and fall hazard control. The course focuses on recognizing fall hazards, understanding fall protection systems, and implementing safe work practices to help prevent falls and fall-related injuries.
Topics may include fall hazard identification, walking-working surfaces, guardrail systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning systems, restraint systems, safety nets, warning lines, controlled access areas where applicable, ladders, scaffolds, anchorage considerations, equipment inspection, proper use of harnesses and connecting devices, rescue considerations, and fall protection planning.
Participants will receive instruction designed to improve their ability to identify fall hazards, recognize unsafe conditions, understand fall protection equipment limitations, and apply appropriate protective measures based on workplace conditions.
This training is intended to supplement an employer’s site-specific fall protection program, policies, procedures, and required employee training. Completion of this course does not, by itself, designate or certify an individual as a Competent Person for every workplace or fall protection activity.
Employers remain responsible for designating Competent Persons based on applicable regulatory requirements, employee knowledge and experience, assigned responsibilities, workplace conditions, and the authority necessary to take prompt corrective measures.
Applicable references may include OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart M, OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart X where applicable, OSHA 29 CFR 1910 Subpart D, manufacturer instructions, and other applicable fall protection requirements and recognized safe work practices.
