812 – HAZWOPER 40-Hour

HAZWOPER 40-Hour Initial Training provided by A.R.G. Construction, Safety & Health for general site workers whose duties require initial training under OSHA’s HAZWOPER standard, 29 CFR 1910.120.

Duration: 40 Hours

Training covers hazardous substance recognition, exposure hazards, toxicology, personal protective equipment (PPE), respiratory protection, air monitoring, decontamination, site control, emergency procedures, and safe work practices.

Important: General site workers covered by 29 CFR 1910.120(e)(3)(i) require 40 hours of initial instruction plus three days of actual field experience under the direct supervision of a trained and experienced supervisor. The supervised field experience is separate from this 40-hour instructional course.

Description

HAZWOPER 40-Hour Initial Training

This 40-hour HAZWOPER training course is designed for general site workers who are or may be exposed to hazardous substances or health hazards while performing hazardous waste operations covered by OSHA’s Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) standard, 29 CFR 1910.120.

The training provides participants with comprehensive instruction in hazardous waste operations, hazard recognition, exposure prevention, personal protective equipment (PPE), respiratory protection, decontamination, site control, emergency procedures, and safe work practices.

Important: For general site workers covered by 29 CFR 1910.120(e)(3)(i), the HAZWOPER initial training requirement includes a minimum of 40 hours of off-site instruction and three days of actual field experience under the direct supervision of a trained and experienced supervisor.

The required supervised field experience is separate from the 40-hour instructional course and is the responsibility of the employer or qualifying worksite.

Additional employer-specific, site-specific, task-specific, equipment-specific, or regulatory training may also be required before an employee performs assigned duties independently.

Employees covered by the HAZWOPER standard are also subject to applicable annual refresher training requirements.
