Description
This training provides eye and face protection safety instruction for personnel responsible for recognizing workplace hazards that may require protective eyewear or face protection. The course focuses on identifying common eye and face hazards, selecting appropriate protective equipment, and understanding safe work practices designed to reduce the risk of injury.
Topics may include flying particles, dust, chemical splashes, molten metal, light radiation, grinding and cutting operations, welding hazards, impact hazards, safety glasses, goggles, face shields, welding helmets, protective lenses, equipment inspection, proper fit, maintenance, and limitations of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Participants will receive instruction designed to improve their ability to recognize eye and face hazards, evaluate workplace conditions, understand PPE selection considerations, and identify unsafe or damaged protective equipment.
This training is intended to supplement an employer’s hazard assessment, PPE program, site-specific procedures, and required employee training. Completion of this course does not, by itself, designate or certify an individual as a Competent Person for every workplace or eye and face protection activity.
Employers remain responsible for conducting required hazard assessments, selecting appropriate PPE, ensuring proper employee training, and determining competency based on workplace conditions and assigned responsibilities.
