A.R.G. Construction, Safety & Health provides Emergency Action Plan (EAP) Safety Training designed to help employees understand workplace emergency planning, emergency reporting, evacuation procedures, employee accountability, emergency assignments, alarm systems, communication procedures, and the responsibilities established by an employer’s Emergency Action Plan.

This training is appropriate for construction, general industry, warehouses, manufacturing facilities, offices, commercial facilities, industrial operations, maintenance facilities, and other workplaces where emergency planning and employee response procedures are required or implemented.

Training Discipline: Emergency Action Planning, Emergency Preparedness, Evacuation & Workplace Life Safety

Emergency Action Plan Requirements: Where an Emergency Action Plan is required under applicable OSHA requirements, the plan may include procedures for reporting fires and other emergencies; emergency evacuation procedures and exit-route assignments; procedures for employees who remain to perform critical operations before evacuating; procedures to account for employees after evacuation; procedures for employees performing rescue or medical duties; and identification of employees who can provide additional information about the plan.

Employee Training Notice: Employees should understand the portions of the Emergency Action Plan necessary to protect themselves during an emergency, including their assigned emergency responsibilities and the procedures applicable to their workplace.

Alarm System Notice: Workplace emergency alarm and notification systems should provide appropriate warning for the emergency actions expected of employees. Employees should understand the alarms, signals, announcements, or other notification methods used at their workplace.

Evacuation Notice: Employees should follow established evacuation routes, proceed to designated assembly or muster locations, participate in accountability procedures, and avoid re-entering evacuated areas until re-entry has been authorized under applicable emergency procedures.

Critical Operations Notice: Only appropriately assigned and trained employees should remain behind to perform critical plant or operational functions when such duties are included in the employer’s Emergency Action Plan.

Rescue & Medical Duties Notice: This course provides awareness of Emergency Action Plan requirements and does not independently qualify a participant to perform technical rescue, firefighting, hazardous-material emergency response, emergency medical care, or other specialized emergency-response duties.

Workplace-Specific Notice: Emergency hazards, alarms, evacuation routes, assembly locations, emergency contacts, shutdown procedures, accountability systems, and employee assignments vary by workplace. Employers remain responsible for developing and communicating applicable site-specific emergency procedures.

Plan Review Notice: Emergency procedures should be reviewed with affected employees as required when an Emergency Action Plan is developed or when employee responsibilities or the plan change in a manner relevant to employee protection.

Employer Responsibility Notice: Completion of this training does not replace an employer’s responsibility to develop, maintain, and implement applicable Emergency Action Plans, employee alarm systems, evacuation procedures, emergency assignments, required training, and other federal, state, local, contractual, or site-specific requirements.

Training Certificate: Participants who successfully complete applicable training requirements may receive an A.R.G. Construction, Safety & Health Certificate of Training documenting completion of the Emergency Action Plan (EAP) Safety Training program.

The certificate documents training completed and should not be represented as an OSHA-issued credential, emergency-management certification, emergency-responder certification, firefighter certification, or governmental license or certification.
