Description
A.R.G. Construction, Safety & Health provides professional development, review, and customization of Health and Safety Policies and Procedures Manuals designed to support an organization’s safety and health management system.
A well-developed safety manual establishes the organization’s expectations, responsibilities, procedures, and practices for protecting employees, controlling workplace hazards, communicating safety requirements, and supporting compliance with applicable occupational safety and health requirements.
Each manual may be developed or customized according to the client’s industry, operations, workforce, workplace hazards, contractual requirements, and scope of work.
Depending on the client’s operations and identified needs, manual content may include:
• Safety and Health Policy
• Management Responsibilities
• Supervisor Responsibilities
• Employee Responsibilities
• Employee Training and Orientation
• Hazard Identification and Reporting
• Hazard Communication
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Emergency Action Procedures
• Fire Prevention and Protection
• Incident, Injury, and Near-Miss Reporting
• Incident Investigation Procedures
• Job Hazard Analysis (JHA/JSA)
• Housekeeping and Walking-Working Surfaces
• Fall Prevention and Fall Protection
• Electrical Safety
• Hand and Power Tool Safety
• Material Handling and Storage
• Equipment and Vehicle Safety
• Lockout/Tagout, when applicable
• Respiratory Protection, when applicable
• Hearing Conservation, when applicable
• Confined Space Procedures, when applicable
• Excavation and Trenching Safety, when applicable

• Contractor and Subcontractor Safety
• Disciplinary and Enforcement Procedures
• Recordkeeping and Documentation
• Safety Meetings and Communication
• Emergency Contacts and Reporting Procedures
Additional programs, policies, procedures, forms, checklists, and appendices may be incorporated based on the client’s operations and applicable requirements.
A.R.G. may assist with the development of a new manual, review of an existing manual, revision of outdated policies and procedures, or customization of safety documentation for specific operations or projects.
The final scope and content are determined by the client’s industry, hazards, operational needs, applicable regulatory requirements, contractual obligations, and agreed scope of services.
Safety manuals should be periodically reviewed and updated when operations, hazards, equipment, regulations, company policies, or workplace conditions change.
A Health and Safety Policies and Procedures Manual does not, by itself, establish regulatory compliance. Employers remain responsible for implementing applicable requirements, providing required employee training, evaluating workplace hazards, maintaining required programs and records, and ensuring that policies and procedures reflect actual workplace operations.
