Construction, Safety &amp; Health provides safety and health training for experienced miners who are newly hired at mining operations covered by 30 CFR Part 46.<\/p>\n<p>This training program is developed to address the requirements of 30 CFR \u00a746.6 and provides experienced miners with mine-specific information necessary to safely begin work at a new mining operation.<\/p>\n<p>Required training addresses the work environment, recognition and avoidance of hazards, emergency procedures, assigned tasks and safe work practices, miners&#8217; statutory rights, supervisory authority and responsibilities, and procedures for reporting hazards.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Course Duration:<\/strong> Duration varies based on the miner&#8217;s previous experience, assigned duties, mining methods, workplace conditions, and the applicable Part 46 training plan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Regulatory Reference:<\/strong> MSHA \u2013 30 CFR Part 46, \u00a746.6 Newly Hired Experienced Miner Training<\/p>\n<p><strong>Important:<\/strong> Part 46 does not establish a minimum number of training hours for Newly Hired Experienced Miner Training. Construction, Safety &amp; Health provides Newly Hired Experienced Miner Training developed to address the requirements of 30 CFR Part 46, \u00a746.6.<\/p>\n<p>This training is intended for individuals who meet the applicable Part 46 definition of an <strong>experienced miner<\/strong> and are newly hired at a mining operation covered by Part 46.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Training Before Beginning Work:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Introduction to the work environment and mine operation<\/li>\n<li>Mine tour or representative walk-around training<\/li>\n<li>Recognition and avoidance of electrical hazards<\/li>\n<li>Recognition and avoidance of other mine-specific hazards<\/li>\n<li>Traffic patterns and traffic control<\/li>\n<li>Mobile equipment hazards<\/li>\n<li>Loose or unstable ground conditions<\/li>\n<li>Emergency medical procedures<\/li>\n<li>Escape and emergency evacuation procedures<\/li>\n<li>Fire warning signals and firefighting procedures<\/li>\n<li>Health and safety aspects of assigned tasks<\/li>\n<li>Safe work procedures for assigned tasks<\/li>\n<li>Applicable mandatory health and safety standards<\/li>\n<li>Statutory rights of miners and miners&#8217; representatives<\/li>\n<li>Mine supervisory authority and responsibilities<\/li>\n<li>Rules and procedures for reporting hazards<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Additional Training:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Where self-rescue or respiratory devices are used at the mine, applicable instruction and demonstration on their use, care, and maintenance must be provided within the regulatory timeframe established by Part 46.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Course Duration:<\/strong> No fixed minimum number of hours is established under \u00a746.6.
