Construction, Safety &amp; Health provides comprehensive new miner safety and health training developed to address the training requirements of 30 CFR Part 46, including \u00a746.5 New Miner Training.<\/p>\n<p>This training is intended for new miners working at mining operations covered by Part 46, including sand, gravel, surface stone, surface clay, colloidal phosphate, surface limestone, and shell dredging operations.<\/p>\n<p>Each new miner must receive no less than 24 hours of training. The program addresses required new miner subject areas including the work environment, mine hazards, emergency procedures, assigned-task safety and health, miners&#8217; rights, supervisory authority and responsibilities, hazard reporting, respiratory and self-rescue devices when applicable, and first aid methods.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Course Duration:<\/strong> Minimum 24 Hours<\/p>\n<p><strong>Regulatory Reference:<\/strong> MSHA \u2013 30 CFR Part 46, \u00a746.5 New Miner Training<\/p>\n<p><strong>Important:<\/strong> Part 46 training must be conducted in accordance with the mine operator&#8217;s or independent contractor&#8217;s applicable Part 46 training plan. Required training concerning self-rescue and respiratory devices, when applicable, and review of first aid methods must be provided within 60 calendar days.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Observation Requirement:<\/strong> A new miner who has not completed the full 24 hours of New Miner Training must work where an experienced miner can observe the new miner performing work in a safe and healthful manner.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Regulatory Reference:<\/strong> Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), 30 CFR Part 46, \u00a746.5.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Site-Specific Training:<\/strong> Training must address applicable mine-specific hazards.
